LUTZIE POLAKOVA - MACRAME JEWELLERY
Lutzie’s work has developed since 2006 when she started discovering a meditative state of working with micro macrame, crystals, natural materials and waxed thread. Her inspiration has always been coming from the beauty of nature and the various spectrums of colours and shapes.
Her openness for inspiration and flexibility in the use of macrame technique has recently led her to a collaboration with an artist, Sanya Budna who creates artfully painted pebbles Art You Can Hold.
„It is like watching magic happening between my fingers when I absorb myself in the creative act when each painted pebble guides my way. Working with the knots for me symbolizes strength, connection, stability and support. With adding feathers to the earrings, I imagine for each beholder to experience softness, gentleness, flow and freedom“
Lutzie has continuous interest in evolving her work. She enjoys adding new techniques and variation to her collection. This lead her to an exploration of using macrame for home decorative items such as hanging plant baskets and driftwood art.
Every piece of sea-washed wood is made by many years of smoothing and sculpting by the elements and sanding tides of the sea. These shapes lead her to creating various frames and shapes, with recent driftwood art piece of wing mosaic. She is open to take commission orders, however due to the individual qualities of the driftwood, no other two piece will be exactly alike.
